La Cure Nescens: manage your weight to live longer in good health
20.03.2019
Do not let your weight burden your health!
Excess weight is the plague of our time. According to recent World Health Organization (WHO) data, more than 1.9 billion people were overweight in 2016, representing 39% of adults over 18.
Between 1975 and 2016, the number of people suffering from obesity in the world has more than tripled. Excess weight is a contributing factor to many disorders such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease and cancer.
Aware of this major issue, GENOLIER PATIENT SERVICES is pleased to refer your patients to the brand new La Cure Nescens program, recently developed by Nescens Clinique de Genolier (Vaud).
This exclusive program, including a comprehensive medical check-up, is specially designed for those suffering from life-threatening illnesses and health-related problems due to severe overweight such as diabetes, cholesterol, hypertension, osteoarticular diseases etc.
The Nescens Clinique de Genolier team will accompany patients step by step throughout this complex but vital weight loss process.
La Cure Nescens
The twelve-day program takes place at the center. The first two days are set aside for an in-depth medical check-up designed to identify possible pathologies linked to excess weight as well as any medical predispositions or contributing factors. Functional tests, medical imaging examinations and genetic assessments are included in this check-up phase.
The patient then carries out a further 10 days at the center under permanent medical supervision. A personalized dietary program is put into place, with regular indoor and outdoor exercises. Further activities include medical procedures, relaxation sessions and cooking classes to learn the elementary rules of a well-balanced diet.
At home, the patient pursues a tailor-made program over a six-month period with medical distance monitoring. The treatment also includes monthly follow-up and a two-day follow-up session at Nescens Clinique de Genolier, six months after the end of the program.
